River House

Wind your way through a breezeway illuminated by sunlight by day and flickering gas lamps by night, up an antebellum staircase, and through our "gracious drawing room" double parlor to enter this private two-room suite with kitchen and bath. Here huge pocket doors separate the living room and bedroom, with a separate galley kitchenette running the length of both rooms and connecting to a charming bathroom with clawfoot tub and window onto the garden. The most "authentic 1850s" of our apartments, River House's second-floor Gallery Apartment features original beaded board ceilings and heart pine floors, enormous gilded pier mirrors purchased in the mid 1800s at Royal Street Looking Glass in the French Quarter, and three pairs of 1830s French doors that open out onto a 500-square-foot balcony with original cast iron, from which you'll enjoy breathtaking cityscape sunsets while watching the tops of vessels chugging along the Mighty Mississippi.

Maximum occupancy: 2 people.
